Train

By train to Bridgend, 10 minute car / bus journey from station.

To plan your journey by public transport use:

 

Car:

From London/the North:
Travel along the M4 to Junction 36. Leave the motorway remaining in the left hand lane of the slip road. Take left at the roundabout (first exit). Take the next left into Heol Hopcyn John, following signposts for ‘Prison’. Travel along the road for approximately 500 yards. HMP & YOI Parc is on the right hand side of the road.

From West Wales:
Travel along the M4 to Junction 36. Leave the motorway remaining in the right hand lane of the slip road. Turn right at the roundabout (fourth exit). Take the first exit at the next roundabout. Take the next left into Heol Hopcyn John, following signposts for ‘Prison’. Travel along the road for approximately 500 yards. HMP & YOI Parc is on the right hand side of the road. Large free car park in front of prison. Disabled parking available.

There is a free visitors car park, to the right as you enter the prison grounds.

There is also a disabled visitors car park situated outside our Susan Ellis Visitors Centre.

On Arrival
Please report to the Susan Ellis Visitor’s Centre 30 minutes prior to your allocated visit time to book in. You will then need to have your photograph taken, which will be kept on file for identification purposes and is for internal use only. Adult visitors will be UV hand stamped.

Social visitors are allowed to take a maximum of £30 cash into the prison for the purpose of purchasing refreshments during your visit. Lockers are available within the Visitor’s Centre for safe storage of personal items including hand bags, mobile phones, excess cash and other items.

The following items are prohibited for any visitors:

  • Alcohol
  • Mobile phone
  • Cameras
  • Sound recording devices
  • Smart watches / Fitness trackers
